Role in AiQ

As a Senior Airport Analyst, Alex utilises his strong technical and engineering skills to provide robust, data-driven insights into complex projects.

Alex has led technical development of numerous complex projects, both for research and public sector. This includes a state of the art multi modal logistics optimisation suite (Python and C++) and novel 4D strategic deconfliction system (C++ and Go), both of which have been used in real world applications. Having recently joined AiQ, this experience is being leveraged to drive the next generation of enhancements to our bespoke modelling software, TransvisionAiR®.

Experience

Alex has a PhD in Aerospace Engineering as well as a Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautics and Astronautics, both from the University of Southampton. Having transitioned to postgraduate research directly from his Bachelors, Alex’s PhD was focused around large scale quantification of risk posed by drones in UK airspace, using rare event Monte Carlo simulation methods and terabyte-scale surveillance air traffic data. Alex also has extensive practical aviation experience from powered flying to competitive gliding and is a sailplane flight instructor.
